Lady Portia
$18,000.00
Six of Swords in the Tarot. As does the Egyptian goddess Maat, Lady Portia weighs (judges) a miniature of herself on the scales against the lightness of a feather. Anubis serves as a symbol of justice (with his colours on his collar) observing the process. A gentle rain falls in the background in a sense of benediction: “the quality of mercy is not strained, it droppeth as a gentle rain from heaven” (Portia, from Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice)
Original, one of a kind artwork by Pamela Matthews.
